Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to apply for the Erasmus Program at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. It will be in the 4th year of my studies and therefore I believe this is the best opportunity to deepen my knowledge in a multicultural environment.
I have always lived in Portugal but studying abroad has always been part of my plans. It is the most exciting thing to imagine living in a different country, being able to understand other cultures and expand our mind. Since I've been to Barcelona several times and a brother and a sister of mine have also lived there while studying or working, it would almost be the culmination of the Moreira family era in the city. It would be a pleasure and it would fulfill me in every ways to follow the footsteps of my family.
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya is offering a wide range of courses and appears to be the perfect complement to my education. Spending one semester at Barcelona would enable me to develop a strong background of knowledge on specific areas. That knowledge will be taught in a different educational system that is world-wide level recognized. I am also looking forward to study and live in a city where I can enjoy student life.
I am confident I would prove to be an enthusiastic and hard working student.
